How to Recover Deleted files from hard drive using Recuva ?
Step 1. Download and Install Recuva in your Windows PC. It’s available for free and very low in size.
Step 2. After installing, open the program and you will get the Welcome screen. Click on Next to proceed.
Step 3. Select the type of files which you want to recover. If you don’t know which type of files you deleted by mistake choose All files.
Step 4. Now Recuva will ask you the location of the deleted files. Click on the browse button and select your drive.
Step 5. After selecting the drive, click on Ok.
Step 6. Before it scans the drive, it will ask your wish to perform a quick scan or deep scan. I recommend you to check on the deep scan so that it can properly scan all the files on the drive.
Step 7. Click on Start to begin the scan. It may take some time depends on the size of the drive you selected.
Step 8. After the scanning process completes, you will be shown a list of files that can be recoverable with (green) as well as those which can’t be recovered with (red). You need to select the files which can be recovered. You can filter the files by clicking on the state from the (top-right). Check/uncheck the unrecoverable files.
Step 9. Now hit the recover button and it will ask you where you want to recover the files. Browse the folder or drive and hit the OK button. It will immediately start the recovery process of the files.
Step 10. When the recovery process completes, you will see a confirmation windows as shown below.
Tips for recovery of the deleted files from hard drive
- Always do a backup of your hard drive frequently.
- If your data is accidentally deleted from your hard drive, stop using the computer immediately to prevent it from overwriting new data on it.
- Always use any best antivirus program to prevent your drive from any malware.
